Our Current Project:

Okipe

Okipe Children’s Village (Anse-à-Galets, La Gonave, Haiti)
Solar power electrification (20 homes, a water pump, a desalination pump)

Every day nearly 630 children die from diarrhea in Pakistan. They die because clean water is inaccessible due to a lack of electricity.
In Haiti over 800 people have died from cholera, which is spread by contaminated water and food, and 12.000 Haitians have been hospitalized so far. Up to 200.000 cases of cholera are expected to be reported over the next six to twelve months .
In Sub-Saharan Africa one in seven children die before their fifth birthday. One of the main causes of child death is related to lack of access to adequate water and sanitation.
Solar for Peace is constructing solar powered water kits. One dollar will provide enough electricity to make enough water for up to ten families a day. That means 50 small children will have clean water, and will not end up sick, suffering, or deceased.
• Children with hope in a better future will have the confidence to build themselves that future.
